“Joy of Racing Trucks Texas Edition
Stong – Story and song”
One summer before every truck race I pictured “David Reutimann” and “Todd Bodine” singing this song.
I started in the truck series a while back. As I was starting out, I crashed a lot. It felt like I was getting attacked, it seemed like a long time I have gotten to victory lane, had a points gain or have taken a race’s reign. We have qualified good but have slid back very fast. I hope by Talladega that will pass. It is hard to go through that with the playoffs upon us. I can’t stand to lose. We have to post good times. We have to have good pit stops to make my owner ooze. It is the joy of racing trucks but I can’t stand to lose.
At Martinsville Speedway I got a 22nd-place finish which isn’t good going into the playoffs. I hope we can get at least a 5th-place finish so we can make them and finish strong. Don’t bother me, I am going to Texas tonight. I am starting to think about the championship so I want to race the races right. I need to run strong and not play my cards wrong. We have to have good pit stops to make my owner ooze. It is the joy of racing trucks but I can’t stand to lose.
It is hard to anticipate what is going to happen over the next 16 weeks. The thing I know though is I can’t drive silly and make myself look like a ding dong. I can’t stand to lose. I want to finish in the top 10 and we can’t make our setups wrong. It is hard to get our mojo on and not know what is going to happen over the next few weeks. We have to post good times. We have to have good pit stops to make my owner ooze. It is the joy of racing trucks but I can’t stand to lose.
