This next song is about all the NASCAR drivers from California. It is called “Coming Home (California Edition). “

I can see the flag waving as I come off the airplane. Mom and Dad are waiting for me at the gate. I get to have my Mom cook for me every night. I enjoy her cooking every time I take a bite. Coming home isn’t like racing cars. I get to have my mama’s bars. I get to visit with mama and papa. I can sleep in my own cozy bed. It is the weekend of the Auto Club 400. Coming home, rock and rolls.
I tell Mom and Dad how bad of a wreck I had in Phoenix. Mom and Dad say “That’s too bad bud. ” We have supper together and we chat the rest of the night. Coming home isn’t like racing cars. I get to have mama’s bars. I get to visit with mama and papa. I can sleep in my own cozy bed. It is the weekend of the Auto Club 400. Coming home, rock and rolls.
On race day, my mama makes me breakfast. The Auto Club 400 is a real stressful race for me. Mama and papa drive me to the track. As we drive along, I think please don’t crash. Please don’t crash. Coming home isn’t like racing cars. I get to have mama’s bars. I get to visit with mama and papa. I get to sleep in my own cozy bed. It is the weekend of the Auto Club 400. Coming home, rocks and rolls. Coming home, rocks and rolls. Coming home……. rocks and rolls.

I am going to write another edition of “Coming Home” in Phoenix in December.
