The day after

The day after Christmas Eve when me and my brother were little, my grandma and grandpa came down to see what we got for Christmas. My grandma and grandpa didn’t come down for a few years. One day at eating therapy, I asked them “What happened to you coming down and visiting with us on Christmas Day?” I started crying. They said something like “We stay home on Christmas Day nowadays.” I am a huge eavesdropper. My Mom said “Join us at the cabin Sunday.” I started jumping up and down in my chair. My grandma and grandpa read my mind. That was our joke at the cabin.  I thought “Be there or be square” laughing. I thought “Grandma and grandpa, I missed this the last few years, good to see you again on Christmas” when they arrived. It was a good day! My Christmas felt complete again.
