Colleen said “You are hard to figure out Katie. That is why I am scared to just leave you with the nurses. ” Katie said crying “Just leave. Don’t worry about me. ” Colleen yelled angrily “Katie, are you trying to make me cry my eyeballs out?! This is Christmas Eve! Tomorrow is Christmas Day!” Katie said crying “Why do you keep yelling at me mommy?”

Colleen said “Katie, you are going on dialysis for the rest of your life. I can’t see you go right now. ” Katie said crying “Why?” She said “You are clueless girl. ” Katie said crying “I just want to be taken care of by nurses for the rest of my life. ” Colleen said “Can you wait until the day after Christmas?” Katie said crying “I can’t wait until after Christmas mommy. You are too mean to me. ” Colleen said “What the heck. Merry Christmas honey. Your wish is my command. I can’t see you cry tomorrow because tomorrow is Christmas Eve. ” 

Katie said crying “What? I don’t have any Christmas family spirit anymore. ” Colleen said “Okay. We will miss you at Grandma Margy’s tonight. I especially will miss you. ” Katie said crying “I won’t. ” She yelled angrily “Katie Elizabeth Madison! Christmas isn’t like Halloween where you spend it with friends!” Katie said crying “Yes, to me anyway. I want to spend it with my nurse friends. They are family to me. You aren’t anymore mommy. You are dirt to me. ”
