Shelia lived on a farm called Paradise Farm after her mom and dad got divorced. Her mom wanted to get remarried because that way she had someone that could watch Shelia, Melanie and Kelly when she went on vacation. She married a nice man named Paul. His former wife, Linda, had cancer and had to ask him for a divorce. He was kind of sad.

Linda was sad too. Her mom and dad thought it was best for her and Paul to get divorced because she had to be gone all the time. Paul was sad because she was his bookkeeper. He was going to hire someone to do it but he thought he would get remarried and make her the bookkeeper. Grandma Caroline was interested in doing it because that was what she went to school for.
