Dolly and her mom went to see Doctor Sandberg. He x-rayed Dolly’s leg to see if anything was broken or fractured. Sure enough, her knee was broken. Doctor Sandberg said “We are going to have to do some surgery on her knee. We will have to admit her into the hospital for 2-4 days. She will have to be on crutches for 2-3 weeks after she leaves the hospital. ”

Dolly’s mom asked “Can Dolly have arm crutches?” Doctor Sandberg said “Yes, she can. ” Dolly’s mom said “In 2005, she broke her foot and it didn’t go so good. ” Dolly said “You have that right mom. 1 of the crutches slipped out from underneath my arm and I fell flat on my face. Luckily, I didn’t break anything else. ” Doctor Sandberg said “That’s not good Dolly. ”

“We will give you arm crutches then. ” Doctor Sandberg said. “2-4 days in the hospital after surgery like I said before. After you go home, I highly recommend you stay home from school for a good week. It will be painful to walk for a bit. You don’t want to be hobbling around school thinking ow ow ow ow ow. ” Dolly said “OK, ya. It wouldn’t be fun. ”

Dolly had her knee surgery. It went well. She wanted to stay in the hospital by herself. She wanted to her peace. She was still shaken up from her fall. The nurses took wonderful care of her. She slept 88% of the time the first day. She was tired from the anesthesia also. She watched TV, ate and slept in the hospital. She watched Judge Judy and Ellen.
