“”Mommy, What Happened To My Ice Cream?””

Once upon a time, Elizabeth and her family went to Lake Superior for the weekend. Elizabeth got herself an ice cream cone. Now, Elizabeth is 5-years-old here. Anyway, Elizabeth was about to take a bite and a seagull swooped down and grabbed her ice cream. She started crying. She said “Mommy, what happened to my ice cream?” Her mom said “A seagull grabbed it sweetie. ”

“I am sure we can get more. ” Elizabeth’s mom said. Well, it was 8:30 at night and the ice cream wagon closed at 8:00. Elizabeth’s mom said “Sorry honey bun, the ice cream wagon is closed. ”  Elizabeth asked “Can we    check at our hotel?” Elizabeth’s mom said “We can check. ” Elizabeth’s mom said. Elizabeth and her family went back to their hotel.

Elizabeth’s mom checked at the hotel. The hotel didn’t have any. “Rich, can you check if Dairy Queen is opened?” Elizabeth’s dad checked and it was closed. This is June right here. Anyway, Elizabeth’s dad said “Sorry Elizabeth. Dairy Queen is closed. ” Elizabeth’s mom said “I brought stuff for ice cream in a bag. Surprise surprise Elizabeth. I thought I shouldn’t tell you unless we ran into this issue because I knew a Dairy Queen was close to our hotel. ”

“I am hungry for ice cream now that I think about it. ”  Elizabeth’s dad said. “OK, let’s do it. ” Elizabeth’s mom said. “It will be a good bedtime snack for all of us. ” “Yes, it will be. ” Elizabeth said. “It’s 9:30. We should get going if we are going to make it and eat it before we go to bed. 10:30 is my limit. After that, I am done for. “Her mom said “We better get going then. ” Elizabeth and her parents made ice cream in a bag and Elizabeth loved it.

Elizabeth was sad when the seagull took her ice cream. Elizabeth’s mom checked if the hotel had any and it didn’t. The Dairy Queen was closed. Elizabeth’s mom surprised Elizabeth by having stuff for ice cream in a bag. She didn’t bring up the fact that she brought stuff to make it until they ran into trouble getting ice cream for Elizabeth. Elizabeth was happy in the end.
